Bold Jumper Building Nests On/In Substrate?

Hey y'all, random, but a bold jumper I've had for a little bit that's still at a subadult stage currently has made a little home both under substrate AND on top of the substrate at the bottom of its enclosure.

I've watched it climb the enclosure to eat flies, but it just seems to like to build its little homes on/under substrate and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a bold jumper before?

Just curious! :)

One of mine has her nest at the bottom of the enclosure in some leafs and twigs. She spends alot of time cruising around the upper areas, but always goes back down to nest at night.

Mine always seem to want to be under some cover, but always choose a high point. I do know there are terrestrial jumping spoods, maybe yours was misidentified?

Yea it’s not out of the realm of possibilities, I have found Phidippus in the wild in similar locations in web burrows.

I’ve had a jumper that built his nest at the bottom he died shortly after but he was old as long as yours is climbing once in a while you’ll be good!

Not the greatest pics, but in the first you can see where they've made their little web burrow home (on bottom of the enclosure, and in 2nd photo you can see the abdomen really well and looks like audax to me although I'm certainly not an expert.

It looks/behaves/is molting just like the other bold jumper I have that's of same size (I believe they are bbs of my first bold jumper that I released into the garden and then recaptured a couple when they were itty bitty).

It definitely still climbs @Eagle555 Jumping spiders (yesterday, was warming itself on the side of the enclosure near the top in the afternoon with the light I have on them, and climbs for flies, etc.) but just seems to be a more shy frand? Included some pics for ya too! Am hoping the stills are fine since I accidentally took "live" pics with my phone. Included full size of the 2nd pic for abdominal markings.

My bold jumper has three nests in its enclosure, one (the most-used) is at the top, and the other two are on or very near the bottom. I guess it depends on the jumper lol
