I'm designing a setup for blue death feigning beetles and I'm wondering if a base layer of bonsai/succulent soil topped with coarse sand will work. I'm planning on having some succulents so I need the soil. Also, I'm curious if they burrow.
I think that should work well for them. I don't have any right now, but as long as they can still burrow nicely and have enough heat, that should be good for them.
I think that sounds awesome! They will prefer the sand on top! I like to have the sand on top because it is so so so fun to see their lil feet marks lmao I will go in before I go to bed and smooth all the sand, and wake up and every inch will be explored! They will not burrow, they will be mainly terrestial, however they will like the shove themselves into crevices. So if you have rocks or something heavy, they will likely try and squeeze into or around it lol. I also have noticed that they will climb if given the chance! I provide spiderwood and different things for them to gain altitude on. They are so funny!
