So I ordered 3 blue death beetles and I’ve set up their enclosure and now i’m just waiting on them to arrive. (bugs in cyber space)

Kinda nervous about keeping them since I’ve heard tons of ppl have some or all die within hours or days of getting theirs (most seem to blame non organic fruits/veggies)

Anywho I heard that beetle jellies does not seem to be a hit, BUT will crested gecko powder food (the one you mix with water) work? I see some ppl use a mixture like this and it seems to work well? (using this as moisture instead of carrots)

Lastly, I saw some people on here say they keep a small small water dish with their beetles and have seen them drink? Not sure if this is beneficial or not?

My plans for feeding is dried river shrimp and crested gecko powder mix by zoo med (since the ingredients have organic fruits) as 90% of their diet and i guess if all goes well then i’ll venture out into dry dog food, fish pellets, and fresh killer crickets etc

I keep a small water dish with everything. Animals from arid environments don't have a convenient dish in nature but in captivity there is no reason not to offer one. Just make sure they can get back out if they fall in. My solution to that issue is I only offer a small bottle cap dish that is impossible to get stuck in.

My bdfbs love apples, dried shrimp (turtle food), and oatmeal. For moisture I give them carrots and lettuce mostly. They’ve proven quite hardy over the last two years.
