So a couple of questions about the blatta lateralis roach.
Base all your answers on a 90 fahrenheit temp.

How often do the females lay oothecae?
How many nymphs is inside the oothecae?
What temp is to high? Kinda sure that i tried 40 degrees some years ago and it seemed fine, but hard to tell i guess.
How long will it take for them to grow from fresh nyhmp to adult?

Anything else interesting to discuss?

I haven't kept my lateralis that long, so I can't really answer all your questions. That said, I know the ooths don't contain that may nymphs, maybe a couple dozen, but they produce them at a good rate.

I think 40C would be pushing it temp wise.

At 90F it should only take a few months to go from newborn to adult.

I have a big colony so here's my experience. The ratio should be 3:1, so for every 3 females, 1 male. Each ootheca has around 15-25 nymphs on average. Normally it take around 30 days for ootheca to hatch. 90 degrees is more on the hot side. I'd say around 77-80 is good enough for fast reproduction. Any higher than that won't increase reproduction rates, but instead increase metabolism (poop) and somewhat of growth rate. Females lay ootheca like crazy depending on ratio and numbers and warm temps, but there is no estimate time frame how much they will lay within a time frame. Growth from nymph to adult can vary depending on the individual. Some will grow faster than others, but in the end it varies by a lot of factors (feeding, temps, etc.). IME it takes around 4 months to reach from nymph to adult, but its only from my care and it varies from person to person.
Here's A pic of my colony a couple months back (its bigger Now)

Thanks for reply guys!

You ever bother with picking egg cases to another container or something similar?
How often do you clean?
How often do you check how the ratio is?
Any good cleaner crew for them?

I leave the ootheca where they are.
Enclosure is cleaned around 4 month intervals. Began cleaning process earlier this AM, few stragglers still inside when photo taken.
5 to 1 is the ratio I prefer.
No cleaning crew is used.

I clean once every week, because my colony is huge on waste, I feed them once a week. I don't use cleaner crews. And I don't leave food dishes over 24 hours when I do feed them. Because it can attract phorid flies and fruit flies, especially during summer. Which summer is hell on earth for me when it comes to feeders.
