So it's very difficult to get a picture so I cant really help on that regards but I found this spider in my bathroom and decided to keep it. It's about the size of a pin and just recently started showing white dots on the body.
I looked it up and this is all I could find that looked similar:

It's got a widow like body and white dots on its abdomen. Widows aren't exactly common around here so I have my suspicions that it's not a true widow.
It eats well and makes cobwebs for webbing really. Likes to hide under the leaf.

Steatoda grossa? To me it looks like a false widow, if not grossa maybe albomaculata

Probably the case. I really don't know that much about true spiders. Just got a bit worried because I've never seen a false widow with bright white dots but if they can be like that I have no doubt that's what it is. False widows are pretty common here.
(I think it's an albomaculata because of the pattern)

I do not know much about them either but I am trying to learn more. I use spiderid.com to help, you can select your state and it gives spiders commonly found there. I am not sure how accurate it is but it can give you a basic idea at least.

Albomaculata literally translates to white spotted so sounds like you are on the right track.
