Your roach said it’s part zebra it can run fast like said above. It’s a racing Stripe? I have no idea why it got a stripe.

Background: I recently noticed that one of my cockroaches had suddenly developed a symmetrical stripe down his entire body. (Images attached)

The individual with the stripe seemed normal for two days, and then abruptly began declining very quickly. He was not eating, his grip was very poor, and he was very stiff. I also saw that his motor skills were greatly affected, and the only way he could move about his tank was to literally shuffle his legs. He lost his ability to climb and traipse the food bowl in his tank. I moved him to an extra enclosure I had as soon as I saw the stripe, in case it was contagious (none of my other roaches are showing any similar symptoms as as the sick one). I have spent hours on end searching the internet for anything similar to this ailment, and found nothing close to it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

(P.S. I'm planning on euthanizing the sick cockroach if he's still alive tomorrow and isn't any better).

Not entirely sure, however I have several hissers with that center stripe that are perfectly healthy. It's either natural coloration (perhaps just a sign of aging), or may be something subcutaneous like the gut system or the heart that we can see through the exoskeleton. Whatever the case may be I doubt the coloration has anything to do with the decline of the individual.
