the images are a week apart, he's a mature male so idk if these are signs of aging or what
any info would be appreciated

they sometimes scrach off their outer pubescence, a layer of hydrophobic cristalline structures that coat the exoskeleton, as they build the sperm webs or when exploring

it wont do him any harm, he just looks beat up

oh thanks, also is it possible to breed him with a female that's younger and smaller than him as long as they're healthy ?

hard to say. if the female is already sexually mature then yes, but usually the females are bigger.
perhaps someone else will be able to help you answer that question.

Nice looking T, not owned this one, but MMs can get old looking sorta, would not surprise me w/this one.

A smaller female, sounds more like a female not ready nor in her prime.

i have zero experience in breeding. Just hours of research. i wouldnt do such a pairing if it were mine, because to me, thats not how its supposed to be.

maybe there are tarantulas or spiders where the male is bigger. I have never come across it yet, in what i have learned. doesnt mean its not possible.

Size is irrelevant, sclerotized spermatheca in a molt is definitive.
