Hi,

I got my first T 10 days ago... an A. Geniculata.

Last night when I came back home, I take a look at him/her and notice a black spot on her/his abdomen. Does this mean that a molt is comming and how long can it take before he/she molt. That's a 2 inchs A. Geniculata. Thank's for your help.

With the A.geniculata the blackspot doesn't necessarily mean it's molt time.A lot of small T's/slings carry the black spot on the abdomen even without an impending molt coming up.Now when the whole abdomen/legs turn dark/black(much more noticeable) that's much more a sign of an upcoming molt...peace..

Hi again,

Thank's for your support. I must admit that I am a little bit paranoid since this is my first T and he/she is so lovely.

The black spot appear yesterday and I was thinking about a molt since the other one at the store where I bought him/her as molted this week (monday) and they come from the same eggsac.

Once again... thank's

It may be a sign/start of a molt also seeing how it just showed up yesterday....but like I mentioned you'll really notice when the molt is near. The whole abdomen and even the legs on it will darken considerably along with not eating.Make sure to remove all live foods!.This is my experience with genics anyways...peace..
