They get 2ft. long. Very aggressive and bite at anything moving in the aquirium. Thats about it, don't stick your hand in the tank unless you want a chunk of flesh removed.
Serrasalmus rhombeus, dark tank with floating plants. Rocks and gravel bottom, quite soft water. Best kept individual or with same the species.
I been reading a few stories how they attack the owner etc, and for me its not surprising - so do my wolffish. But not because they wanna kill you (as the stories I read of black piranha can make one believe) but they simply check if that finger in the tank are edible. Piranhas such as nattereri are quite shy in aquarium, but if thats the case with rhombeus I dont know. Maybe they are more game and therefor seems more "aggressive".
Reach up to 40cm so a good sized tank is a must. Strong filtration also a must.
