I saw someone's hissers today and some of them were black with no brown coloring, just a real dark black. I figured that couldn't be good... What does it mean? I also picked out a dead adult that was the same color. :?

Hissers vary in color, I have several all black in mine. They can vary in color depending on food items. Nothing to worry about.

food question ?

I feed my hissers cat fodd, but they never touch it. Dried fish flakes with alot more higher protien in it they tear up on though.
Was curious as to how many roach ratio to the size of the conatainer :?

I have fed mine cat, dog, and chick feed. When they ate the cat food the turin in it made them smell kind of like cat piss. I switched to ground up dog food and chick mash when I have it. As far as how many in what size of container, I was told years back several hundred to a ten gallon tank. I dont agree with that. If you read my earlier post I have had problems with aggressiveness. I have several hundred in one of the largest rubbermaid containers I could find and still witness leg biting. I am going to seperate them again.

It's a morph. Once your colony gets big, you might start to see some black ones pop up too. Dead hissers don't turn black until they're decaying.

I have been feeding out the brown ones to see if I can get good color black ones.

Cool. Just didn't look right, especially because her colony wasn't well cared for.
