Hi, I recently got a nice size colony of B. Fusca's and I was wondering if anyone had experience and tips on how to breed the most efficient? I also wanted to know just basic facts like for example could I just throw carrots in there every week or so? I look on google and stuff and most info on roaches is for B. Dubia's.
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hey Sam,

I will say though that mine require very little maintenance. Egg crates, oranges, and that's it. Keep 'em warm and dry and they do fine.

You can tell the difference by the last ventral abdominal segment, males have two smaller ones in about the same space where females have a single larger one. It's fairly noticable on adults but harder to see on nymphs, if you look at a bunch it becomes more obvious. This holds true on most species of roaches.

Hmm, just did a search on 'sexing roaches' and quickly found these;

There are many more but unfortunately some of the pictures no longer come up.
