I came downstairs to find my female fusca mating with my male giganteus (big mama and valentino) They seem to fit together fine, so I think fertilization is quite possible, the female drags the male around. Any special care to make sure reproduction is sucessful, and how long before the ootheca is dropped and nymphs hatch?

EDIT- female is fusca,not cranifer.

Are you hybridizing for a reason? Im interested to know if its a successful breeding.

How can I tell when she is ready to give birth so I can move her to a smaller tank, newborn nymphs will get lost in a 10 gallon tank with woodchips!

No not on purpose, it was a mistake that I got the fusca in the first place, and when I had them I happened to get a true giganteus in a pet store, thinking it was a fusca nymph. So now the male giganteus has been living with all female fuscas, and I guess he thinks he's one of them, I have all female roaches except him, I thought he was female when I got him, I was wrong, lol.

Oops, is the female cranifer or fusca? looks like fusca.

I think that craniifer and fusca are actually synonomous. Im sure someone else has more information on this.
