I walked into my room a few minutes ago, and I see immediatly, my Rose hair (Rose) bobbing up and down like....a man doing push ups !! She did it about three times, then flattened out in that weird creepy pose they do sometimes.

Has anyone seen their rosies do this ?? What might she have been doing?! :?

BTW, Im asking about the bobbing, not the creepy flat posing.

I've seen one of my B. smithi slings do it after pouncing a cric and before laying a dinner web. I saw my A. avic do it inside his tube web for no apparent reason. I don't get why they do it. Maybe they're hittin' switches with their hydraulics like the lowrider cars....:)

I like to call that the "Happy Dance" because they look so cute while they're spinning circles. I've see mine spin one way then turn around and spin the other way. I think it's SOOOOO cute! :)

I don't think I've ever seen any of my critters bob up and down though. That seems like it would be pretty interesting to see.

The thing is, she doesnt have any crickets in her cage. I just walked into my room, and she started bobbing up and down.

Maybe she felt vibes thru the floor and was doing some mating dance? Who knows. It was cute though! :p

was she doing it over her usual web mat? I have seen mine bobbing up and down, with or without a cricket, but netime he is just laying down web since upon closer inspection I see his spinnerets laying web as he touches down then back up he bobs.

My little Pterror is funny though...i love how he will "lay web" up a wall and onto the roof...his big ol butt just turns as he walks it up the wall (his butt, his feet never move)and then turns even more as he lays it on ceiling...like WOW the flexibility!

When I saw this thread post - I thought - "what are the odds of this regarding a rosie?".....hehehe

Anyway - My rosie does this too intermittently, and I have seen my curlyhair sling do the same thing. I've got a P. Irminia that does something similar when walking - but I think it's more just a "pimp-stride".
