I dont know if this is the right place to put this thread in, but here is goes.

I'm really wanting to get a new bird feeder for my backyard buddies. But the squirrels are eatting all of the seeds. The bird feeder i have now is just a wooden thing and to get down to it it's just a piece of junk. I've heard of this feeder that allows birds to eat, but not squirrels. Could anyone tell me where to get this, FOR A GOOD PRICE, and exactly what it does?

Thanks! :D

Just put your feeder in a metal pole with a whole bunch of Vaseline on it. That will keep the squirrels off it. {D

I couldn't find a picture of it, but I've seen some before that were pretty much a spring with a corn cob on top, the idea being that the squirrel weighs much more than a bird and gets whipped around and flung off when he jumps onto it.

I had problems with wood rats getting into my bird feeders. I switched to the type of feeder that mounts on a metal pole, there is a "collar" on the bottom of the feeder so rodents can't climb up. got the feeders at Target for around 13.00 each. they hold a lot of seed too so I only have to top them off every week or so.

Another thing you can do is put red pepper or cayenne pepper in the bird foor. Capsasum doesn't affect birds and they cannot taste it, but squirrels do.

There is also a ring you can place around the bottom of the feeder. Below where the birds sit. I know it is expensive but it is pretty cool. It shocks the squirrels and they fly off of it. A bit inhumane maybe but fun to trick your friends or brother into touching it.

Also needs electricity.....
