Whats the biggest Poecilotheria have you seen?

i would say the p. rufilata or p. ornata

Though the highland form is smaller, P. subfusca from certain low elevation localities are reputed to acheive 9"+ legspans, which is as large as any ornata or rufilata I've ever seen.

My buddy Mads used to catch Pokies in Sri Lanka for export and he claims he found the largest spider ever on record. (and yes it was a Poec which is shocking). Not too sure about the specifics, but I can look him up if you are really interested.

I personally think bulk has more, or at least as much to do with overall impression of size as leg span.

The biggest Pokey I've seen by far was a Regalis, but it didn't have the largest leg span that I've seen.

the largest pokies in our collection are p rufilata with 1 or 2 just over 9 inch , i also have 1 regalis with a nearly 9 inch leg span , p striata about 8 inch , p pederseni very bulky with a 8.5 inch leg span p fasciata 8 inch , p subfusca lowland form adult female around 7.5-8inch also 1 year old sub adult females 7inch leg span

I'm fairly certain that rufies and ornatas get the biggest. Don't think there is much difference between their sizes. Biggest I've ever seen though have been adult female regalis at maybe 7inches.

on a serious note..i have never seen a Poecilotheria..but hear they can get pretty big.

They've got two P. regalis at a pet store near by... I haven't put a ruler to them, but I'd say they're about 6 inches each... Plus the ones I saw at the reptist's place. They're all the largest "Pokies" I've seen.
