The person didn't forget the T's, he just didn't have the paperwork all worked out, and therefor he couldn't take the spiders with him... sad, but true.Originally posted by rosehaired1979
Thats really uhh not using common sense i mean waht person would forget that have 500 t's lol.
That is a point - but it's vague. I read it more that some species [of tarantula] can cause death in humans. I figure if I read it that way, there is probably a lot of less arachnid-informed people out there that did the same, and are *scared*Meaning that tarantulas are deadly to some species.... not meaning humans most likely.
Jill and I have been in the process of doing so. If the paper publishes it we'll put up a link. And its not so much because of fear of the hobby shutting down but increasing the hobby to have people to sell spiders to. We hope that maybe a small domino effect could start. If I had a dollar for every person I have come into contact with that had no idea they could get or keep such things as tarantulas.Originally posted by Malhavoc's
*rolls his eyes* I figure if we're all so scared of the arachnophobes of closing down our hobby why dont we write editorials to the editor's to counter the negitive media effects...
Ohhhh the ambiguitity! I interprated that as "in some species" meaning NOT some species of the bitten victim will die, but that 'some species of tarantula will kill humans'; i.e. the rosie won't kill, though other tarantulas may. Just to emphasise what could of happened, if the spiders within wern't rosies...Originally posted by Psycho
Tarantulas are popular as pets but their bite can cause pain comparable with a bee sting or, in some species, possible death.
