Big dragonfly sighting!!!

A rare sight I got pictures of it sleeping on a garage. It Was pretty big 4-5”+ Not seen one in years here. Does anyone know the species??

I can go check if it’s still there this was 3 hours ago. No it’s dark outside it’s body looked about 3”-3.5”.

You see those near water. in my case, when i go in the wild north, they are everywhere. Its also cyclic. So they have periods of activity. When you dont see them anymore, you see other kinds. The camo dragonflies, or the giant blues.

you need to get out more. To see the beauty.

They are also plentiful down here. Not just that particular species but dragonflies in general. Kind of like this guy

I love dragonflies and pretty sure they eat smaller annoying flies and pest species. So they're great for doing that.
