Big and little sister - Macrotermes lilljeborgi

Here's a very nice pic of a pair of alcohol-preserved soldiers of Macrotermes lilljeborgi, a very large and darkly colored open-foraging termite from tropical central Africa. Specifically, here we have a robust major soldier with a unusually rounded head for its genus and a much thinner but very agile minor soldier... now those are termites i would love to see in real life!
