Hi guys, I really don‘t know if this is the right section, I have a random question. Does anyone know the genus and species of the tarantula that appears in the intro of Better Call Saul?

It appeared like one second if not shorter, and it was not even a full shot.

This would be hard to figure, in my opinion.

An Aphonopelma of some sort, I hope. Mature male most likely. I can't recall which species is all black when MM.

Yes. Oddly enough they could had picked a species native but didn’t.

Agree. And yet, the tarantula that Drew Sharp catches, and Todd ends up taking home, in Breaking Bad in the NM desert is also a rosea.

They had that G. rosea (from both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) at one of the local pet stores here for several years as a tourist attraction, but it eventually disappeared. Not sure why they used that one other than perhaps it's docile nature - I mean, they could have found a wild A. hentzi or A. gabeli at any number of the locations they filmed at. Nobody asked for my help, though...
