Best unexpected freebie(s) you've ever received?

Once I bought 2 female OW T's but the dealer had one of them escape (!). I waited for several weeks, but the dealer was unable to find it. So along with the remaining T and a replacement species I picked, I was sent a FEMALE Chilobrachys sp. kaeng krachan and a Pelinobius muticus sling for free. I was floored, especially since I didn't have a C. sp. kaeng krachan.

So, not including ones you got to pick your self, what's the coolest freebie you ever received?

It was my first time purchasing from a breeder, and I was only a couple months into the hobby. Only had experience with Brachys and was purchasing another Brachy, and Avic and C. versi. He asks me if I’m comfortable with a freebie P. irminia (I named it FreeBee because of its colors). I probably shouldn’t have said yes since at the time it was by far my fastest T. Now I have a P. gigas so my P. irminia isn’t the fastest anymore. To this day though, the P. irminia is the only one to have escaped during a rehouse and sent me on a hunt around my room trying to catch it

How large were the orders you guys made? Many breeders have a limit that you need to reach in order to receive one, so next time keep adding the tarantulas in! Haha

Only ever ordered twice. First time was my juvie albo and second was 3 slings. I just wanted to be involved in the conversation...

Im always looking at slings online though but trying to save my money for a snake setup. Its very tempting to buy all the slings under £10!

It's more WHO you buy from in the UK. For example, I've never had any freebies from The Spider Shop regardless of how much I've ordered. Tarantulas Bristol used to give away freebies fairly often when they were open.

Sellers on FB/smaller sites are more likely to dish out freebies than the larger vendors.

My only T, my little A. seemanni sling, was actually a freebie. I’ve also gotten a Scolopendra polymorpha, but I gave that guy to a friend.

To add to this, back when I was collecting whatever species I could get my hands on, I was gifted a pair of P. murinus TCF by a friend.

But now my collection follows the PPT rule for the most part, don’t want to stray too far from that

I got a free P. sazimai once and a free mantis on another order. The freebie mantis unfortunately had a bad molt and died, but the sazimai is growing well. Those are the only freebies I've gotten.
