im in the marketfor a new digital camera.what do you guys think is the best cam for real awesome closeups?i cant spend more than $300.thanx again friends.
I use the Lumix DMC-FZ20 the price in germany is at the moment round about 350€. It's a really nice and easy to handel camera. It has got 12x optical zoom, 5 megapixel and also the pictures have a nice quality. Here a few pictures:
P.metallica female:
P.ornata eggsac with normal macro modus:
P.miranda larvae with Raynox converter:
The pictures are extrem downsized from 5 megapicel to 800x600, because of this they look sometimes a little bit "strange", when you are interessted I can send you by time the original pictures ( please write me a mail for this ).
i use the SONY DSC-F717. Its a very good prosumer cam.
You can see pictures done with the cam here in the gallery: www.baboonspiders.de
The price for this cam is about $ 300,-. Only problem is, that you can not get a new one, but you on ebay.com they will be sold about $ 300,-.
I bought it new and payed: 500,- EUR (~$ 650,-) - this was even low priced. Normaly they costed about $ 850,-.
So you would get a really good cam for low money.
Well i have to say, i STILL havent worked out whether it has a manual focus, but thats mostly through being a lazy bum.hehe
I use an Olympus FE-120 6 megapixel.
I use a Fuji Finepix S9000, which is a sort of "hybrid" between a point-and-shoot and a SLR digi cam. It has a great Macro and Super Macro, within 1 cm, but also has almost 11x optical zoom, without an add-on lens. I also have a Ricoh-Caplio GX8, which has great Macro for those close-ups, but not as much zoom, that I'm selling for that latter reason.
