It is about the 10th or 11th day of eggsac for genic mama. Up until recently, she has been faithfull guarding the egg sac. Well, over the past couple of days, I have seen her taking rests from the eggsac and just sitting right by it. This morining, I found her completly away from the egg sac, just sitting under the half log I have in there for her. But now this afternoon, she has taken the eggsac under the log with her and has silked up one end of the log.

Is this pretty normal?

I have been told to remove water from her tank as it could ruin the eggsac if she accidentally placed the sac in the water while getting a drink. But I imagine she has got to be thirsty? I have been watering one side of the cage for extra moisture.

Any comments or suggestions?

What you have described is pretty normal behavior. I have observed almost all of my brooding females put down the sac periodically after the first week. They usually are near it however, and do not leave it for long. My best advice to you would be to try your best not to disturb her.
