And I have a question we only bought her to have her wonderful self
Well today we woke up to a egg sack and her sitting on top of them I’ve only had her for one day☹ Can someone inform me on what to do I can’t keep a bunch of spiders and there also not native to where I live☹

Unfortunately it would be better for newer jumping spider owner to look for a juvenile or sub adult so this doesn't happen but possibly getting a gravid (pregnant) female is something easily overlooked when buying an adult and a lot of ppl want female Phidippus Regius because the have more color. There is a chance she was unmated and laid an infertile clutch. If Regal jumpers are not native in your area you can only try and find someone that can raise them or have to remove the egg sac and place in the freezer for euthanasia.

Sometimes they can and will wander around looking for the nest but usually go back to normal after a couple days or so.

They can make 5-8 fertige sacs from one mating. Here is what o would do. Remove the sac, put it in a cup and wait until you have 3 left.
They don't live forever and you secured your next 2-3 years.

it will take months for there to be only a few. they arent like other spiders, they actually avoid eating each other and die off slowly until a couple months pass. they will eat each other if they are starving, but many more will die of starvation than by killing each other, which is a sad, slow fate.

theres a group that will help you out, theres a guide on raising them, or even get help rehoming whole egg sacs if you feel way too overwhelmed here! some people even trade their mom- since they can produce multiple egg sacs- and get a healthy, captive bred juvenile in exchange so they dont lose everything.

its such a shame bc these poor wc moms are so sweet and pretty, but you can never know their health, age, and they could be gravid... its such a pain. theres even a blacklist and a breeder list in the group, too, so you can avoid getting more than you can handle in the future.

i really recommend checking those guides they have and posting when you need to rehome any. its a shame because they arent native to you :(

It took our first sac from November(EWL) to mature (!) in Mai/June. I don't know what "months" is... but the Temperatur of ours and our clients kept them around 27°, nothing extraordinary.

Cannibalism started at i2.

And i do know some Facebook groups, best they did is whitelist breeders that falsly accused other breeders to scam people (while scamming people with false adresses) promote "pure white bahamas", spread rumors about the chelicera colour and setup pink disney enclosures.

Great stuff, 10/10 would recommend!

Stay critical.

that group is definitely far from this one. this one is a LOT better, lol

that time frame is normal for males to mature, but females take 2 more molts on average, so it isnt possible for the entire clutch to mature at the same time, usually it takes another month at least before the females molt more, usually 2

First male matured in april. (This specific Individuum got overfed, probably that's why).
I keep track on almost every offspring to give assistance if asked for.

Anyways, the point was that to my expirience it goes quite fast until the first 30% get eaten by a sibling. What i don't know is what will happen past i3/4 but i am hella sure their number will decrease quite fast. So are many other breeders in EU. P. regius is no joke.
Besides this, if no food provided, slings are meant to eat each other in nature. So i don't see much cruelity there.

What you can group past this stage is for ex. hyllus walckenaeri.

That's good if this group is something else. We will see how long this lasts until the mayority of the tik tokers take over and leave a lot of unhappy keepers with mislabled sexes behind.

Long story short, this sac has to be confirmed fertile first.

yes, i agree with you, but it is definitely good protocal to assume fertile until proven otherwise lol!

And yeah, regius are one of the more cannibal happy species ive raised, but the reason i said its cruel is because younger slings actually prefer flies to each other and so many of them will starve themselves not eat their siblings- so they die rather slowly :/ and their siblings dont eat the body, just leave it. eventually they will eat each other but its definitely easier on them to just let the weak ones drop while also feeding them, because the number will be at least halved on average to start with
