Beetle ID

People were freaking out and saying there was a giant ladybug flying around the factory that I work at. I caught it and brought it home to photograph. It bit me hard enough to draw blood so I took the photos and released it. My question is...what is it exactly?

Looks like Pelidnota punctata; might not be that sp. but it definitley appears to be the Pelidnota genus.

Really neat beetle, and a easy breeder. I'm hoping to come across some of them this summer myself. Great find!

those are at my light on my garage every night by the dozens.That and bright green ones.They really are neat.
