Beautiful latrodectus (or i think its a latro)

Found this big girl under a rock with about 3 egg sacks.
I immediatly thought latro but im not sure since ive never really delt with true spiders anyone care to enlighten me?:D

Was found in Cyprus

They are easy to confuse if you don't know what to look for. This is the second picture I've seen in this forum this week of beautiful Steotodas from other parts of the world than the US. This can be a very beautiful genus but apparently all of the Eastern US species are basic black (brown really). Nice find!

yeah apparently some of the species in the genus are commonly known as "false black widows":D

Definitely Steatoda.
Could be paykulliana ...though! I and many others tend to ID every big, colorfully marked Steatoda as that ...yet, we gotta realize that there are other species (even here in the US) that DO have red/orange/yellow markings.

It's the only Mediterranean Steatoda species with similiar striking markings, as well as being the only species reported for Cyprus.
