I'm getting a beardie in a few days, an 8" little guy, who has a lazy eye due to a bite when younger. I bought 1" dowel, a foot of one inch thick red oak, a bunch of tiles and a glue gun, and Pat helped me make a basking spot, and I set everything up, I, being the silly person I am, forgot to grab the thermometer, buuut, How do you guys think it looks for now?

it looks great, but i would make sure that wood leaning against the home made basking spot is sturdy and secure. i don't know how its placed but it doesn't look like it would stand from the pic. overall though its really good. good luck with the beardie. :)

Thanks for the advice! I'm gonna secure it to...something. Haven't decided what yet, either the tile its on or the half log. Im just worried that securing it to the tile itso n will make that tile harder to clean, lol

if you want an opinion on that id say take some thick wire (clothes hanger, etc) and use it to hook to the top. it might be easier then attaching to the tile or anything else, when cleaning the tank.

Oooh, that would work... Coat hanger should work for that... Awesome, you rock!

Looks good. You're thinking on the right track.
Cleaning the tank is important so keep that in mind when you're putting everything together. Also, your beardie will probably spend more time on top of that half log than under it. Looks great though!

I just got my little Kegan (the beardie) in his new home. Poor thing felt all cold, being in that box since yesterday, and I snapped a few pictures, I'll post them later tonight.
Must say, the post office people did awesome. His box was marked "tropical fish" and since no one was home to receive it (the roommate wasn't home as he said he would be) they took the package to the post office. When the roommate got home, he called my boyfriend to let him know the package was at the P.O. and the bf then called to see what we could do. A person there was worried the "fish" would die. My boyfriend told them what it really was, and the lady offered to drive it back to my house after she got off, and she did. I am simply amazed at the kindness. I'm getting her name so I can send her a thank you note. I love people today!
