I am leaving town for 2 weeks, will our beardie be ok. I am planning on giving it a large amount of food and water. I have its lights on a timer. Is there any precautions we should take.
It might survive, but leaving the little guy without a fresh batch food daily could definitely hurt it. What it would you plan on feeding it? If you leave veggies they'll surely be no good after 2 or 3 days. If you leave insects in there for 2 weeks there is a great chance that they'll chow down on your beardie, especially the toe and tail regions.
Plus you have the whole light/heat cycle thing to worry bout unless you have a timer system set up. Plus leaving a high wattage light on for your guy could prove dangerous if your gone for two weeks, potential fire concerns there.
Best thing to do is find someone to watch em for ya, snakes and Ts you could get by fine with leaving for two weeks, a Beardie is a whole nother ball game.
