Hi everyone, I need help asap!!! I have an adult male bearded dragon that was all fine and dandy until like a week or two ago. He still acts and looks normal and does all the normal "reptilian" things (he eats like usual, basks, and he isn't sluggish or anything like that). His nostrils look kind of plugged up like he has a cold or something, and when we put him in water it went away, but when he dried off his nose got stuffed again!:wall: Aside from that he makes this kind of hissing/gasping noise and I believe that he's breathing from his mouth when he does this. Has anyone ever heard of this? We want to take him to the vet, but she wont be back for another week! Please Help!!!!!!

Respiratory

It definately sounds like some time of respiratory illness, hopefully just upper and not lower. Keep the beardie warm (hot side 95-100 F, cool side eighties). Make sure the temp. doesn't drop at night. Soaking (attended) may ease discomfort. These things can go away on their own but if it looks bad or the animal is not eating than definately get it to a vet and get some antibiotics (oral or injectable). Make sure you are adding vitamin and mineral powders to the food regularly to help keep the immune system strong.
Good Luck.
