I recently got my 2nd T a harpactira pulchripes 3inch female and it was kinda a rush job since I got her from someone who had no clue how to keep her and so just gave me her. Can anyone please inform me on the basic care for this species and what I should be feeding specimens of this size since my only previous experience in keeping tarantulas is a 6inch T.Vagans who is very easy to keep. Since I got her she buried herself in her hide and so I made a post about molting since then she has come out and webbed up her enclosure very quickly I have provided her with a basic hide some anchor points like straws and a water dish the substrate is slightly moist and she is housed in a small Tupperware container. I’m very concerned with her and from what I can find on google are unhelpful “care sheets” that give specific percentages of humidity and temperature. 3E7250FA-BFC7-4525-86ED-DC08E1F7F60D.jpeg

You can keep here on dry sub. Make sure she has enough substrate to burrow if she chooses to do so. Provide water dish as I see you have. Periodically overflow dish. The straw anchor points aren’t really needed. Feed her med/large crickets or other feeders appropriate to her size. Super easy to Care for and hardy in my experience.

Would 2-3cm dubias work since I have some of those and really don’t like using crickets, also right now she has about 4 inches of sub to burrow in do you think that’s enough or should I get her a deeper enclosure?

Yeah. Like a 2cm Dubia would work just fine. Just feed her what looks appropriate to her size. You’re not trying to get her so fat she pops if you catch my drift. Just let her chill as of now and I wouldn’t stress trying to feed her until you notice she has settled in a bit. They are generally pretty good webbers, so not surprised that it already took to laying web.

Yeah ok thanks she looks healthy and full rn so I’m not too worried about letting her settle for a week and trying to feed her then and I kind of want her to settle because I’d rather she run into her hide than out of the enclosure when I try to feed her.

In my experience they don’t tend to be the most skittish. Mine normally sits out on her web and chills on display. Really good eaters as well. Tend to be a lil more “docile”, as I use that term lightly. Just be aware that it is a baboon species.
Here’s mine. Gave her the option to burrow, but decided to do more webbing between her hide and plant. Made an intricate lil funnel instead.

Mine is out right now and I got this. She’s also a bit smaller than yours so could explain why she’s quite skittish since when my other T was juvie-sub adult sized she was also slightly skittish but I think she looks quite healthy maybe a bit on the skinny side. But their colours are truly amazing and I wish I could get a better photo of her but I don’t want to disturb her.

Basically some sub, container, cork bark, water dish, ambient temp-- nothing special
