I don’t recommend cohabitation in scorpions unless breeding. even then, six is way to much especially with that size tank that has no hides. Sorry if you meant multiple tanks though. I still recommend more hides.

It’s a ten gallon tank a buddy of mine said I could hold up to 10-12 striped bark scorpions but I was thinking of 6 . What hides would you recommend to add ?

More cork flats. Some burrowed into the substrate and some stacked on top. You need like 8 to12 hides for six because they need two per scorpion. One on the hot and one on the cold side. I recommend a thirty gallon for that many. If you find them dead in a couple days, it was from keeping that many together.

Cohabitation with bark scorpions usually goes very well when they are adult. When not adult, cannibalization may occur in the process of molting, because that makes them particularly vulnerable. When they’re adult, this is not an issue anymore.

So in my opinion, adult bark scorpions can be kept communally and do very well. I do agree, however, that extra hiding options should be provided. Stack some more cork bark to create crevices.

Adult bark scorpions actually cohab quite well, so I wouldn't be worried about that. Would echo @Joey Spijkers in saying more hides are required and also just urge incredible caution when working with these. They should have lots of places to hide, which also means you won't see them, which also means you have to be ten times as careful when doing maintenance. You don't want to get stung by one of these.

Cohabitation of any species is never good. Young / juvenile will be cannabilistic, trouble when molding etc. Adult female group will fight, adult group of males will fight. Mixed sexes, adult, in large enclosures are fine until females become gravid, then you have to separate the gravid females. Therefore separating at any time for any reason is NOT cohabitation.

All I've know is I have seen it work with this species. I'm generally against it as a rule with scorps, but I know personally of a couple cohab colonies that have not had issues. Perhaps it is not recommendable to someone who has not worked with them before however.

Adult Bark Scorpions cohabitate in the wild. Why sometimes tree trimmers get swarmed. Most Scorps its a no go, but Bark are okay. They don't like light so give them lots of places to hide
