hope you guys like this freshly hatched beauty

indeed it is! this species isn't very common in my area so i'm trying to breed some and start a population.verrrry pretty!!
this species over-winters as larvae so the release will have to wait till next year. but the mortality rate seems fairly low with these guys and i have two females laying eggs for me which meens epic ammounts of caterpillars in about 2 weeks.Nice pictures. I hate how specialized every species is for what plants they'll eat, but it's totally worth it to see something like this. I raised monarchs in a similar setup from 2 wild mating pairs and ended up releasing a lot more out after they hatched.
One of the better looking butterflies in the world for sure! Nice.
in my opinion these are one of the coolest looking butterflies i've seen. uncommon but beautiful.Nice the color of the leaves really brings out the color of the butterflie's wings.
