i bought a regular old ball python off craigslist last year for 20$ with the tank. since then i feed him/her 1 time per week. either 1 small rat. or 2 feeder mice. it lives on shreded up newspaper. with a hide, heat pad, water dish, and a piece of wood to add as decoration and serve as a shedding "scratcher"

my question is.. ever since i remember the right eye has had what i thought was the shed stuck on it, but it has never came off. the right eye basicly looks very milky/ and crystalized? im not sure how to put it.

if it is inded the eye cap how do i go about taking that off? or should i just let it be?

Take your ball python, and a wet towel, and put both in a pillow case. Tie this up, and place in the cage overnight. The ball python will (naturally) try to escape the pillowcase. All of his escape attempts will rub off the stuck eye cap (if that's what it is). We have one male who is a real bad shed no matter what we do, he gets pillowcased about every other shed.

i also forgot to mention. when i notice he/she is ready for a shed.. i put him/her in the bathtub for about a half hour or more.. to soak. i let him/her stay in until the water heats him/her up to much and she turns red on the bottom.. and then i put him/her back into the tank..

The cap just has int come off the eye when she sheded, imo leave it for a few if ti doesn't come off by itself , get a Q-tip and gently rub it off without touching unexposed eye

what im thinkin :p but no means a expert so. maybe keep an eye out and see if more people agree on what i said

how many sheds has it had "as long as you can remember"? I look at this snake and it looks like it recieved an injury to that side of the head that led to the molting issue and at this point if it is several eye scales sealed on I dont think the q tip will work.

like i said i bought the snake off craigslist from a kid who i dont think knew how to take care of it properly.. (im not saying im an expert in any way shape or form) so for just under a year the eye has been like this. and shed after shed i have not scene a normal eye.

When were these pics taken? It looks like it's had an overall bad shed, with the flakes of old skin all over it. What are your temps and humidity like?

If it's had numerous sheds and this is still an issue, a trip to a vet that deals with exotics may be a good idea. They can have a better look at the eye and let you know what to do.
