I recently got a BP that had a bad shed, so I had to remove the old skin from it's head myself. I'm a colubrid kinda guy so this is my first BP. I think he has retained eyecaps, but I'm not sure. I really don't want to make the mistake other make and remove it's "eye lids". Any tips or methods for knowing if it's retained or not? How to remove them?

I would soak the snake in warm water and then try wiping them away with a soft wet cloth. I wouldn't use anything like tweezers to try to pull them off.

Soak him in warm water but be sure it isn't to deep....I also put my snakes in a sterlite container wiith a wet towel and leave them for an hour or so it hels soften the shed. You can also use magic tape to try and remove the eyecaps works for me but soak her first goodluck. Matt

First things first....

Check the shed to see if the eye caps are on the shed skin. If so, no worries. If only partially, I don't know how much I'd worry about it until the next shed. If you don't see any evidence of shed eye caps on the skin then you should take the advice of the other good people here.
