for a healthy ball python (normal phase nothing fancy) that is either 2 feet or bigger what is a good price someone should pay for the snake not including the heat lamps and everything else...

Keeping in mind:
I have snake experience of about 2 -3yrs dealing with cornsnakes, ball pythons, and boas.

This person is trying to get rid of the snake asap

some people on craigslist SELL animals instead of using a rehoming a fee.

these are normal ball pythons so they arent in too much of a high demand at all. so demand shouldnt trump supply at all (by this i mean the price shouldnt be outrageously huge)

And the difference between their price and a rehoming fee is like 200 dollars or more.

And we dont have to get all technical..I would just like to know yall think is a reasonable rehoming fee someone should pay....

yea it must be a MASS thing because these people here think they can charge an arm/leg for a NORMAL ball python plus recoop money they spent on the accces. i dont think so! not going to happen.

You are the one getting rid of the animal and putting it on craigslist lol done lost their mind.:? :?

its funny though becausse a lot of the snakes stay on there when people want 225 dollars for a regular phase boa constrictor just because its over a 2 feet.

its been there for like at least three months lol..

I saw a normal BP listed on CL for $300.

Some people either have no idea what their animals are actually worth or they are just thinking wishfully.

If I were selling a normal BP that size on CL, I'd ask $25 or $30 even though I KNOW the snake would be worth more in the right market. CL is NOT a good place to sell animals. I only buy. ;)

I do see some pretty good deals on there for adult balls that come with a nice wooden tank and all supplies for $100. I probably wouldn't pay more than $50 for just the snake though.
I got my girl free through a reptile rescue. So you could try those places too :)

But yeah, craigslist is nuts sometimes. Right now there's someone selling a baby snow cornsnake with 10 gal. tank for $119. No joke. :p

I know this is off topic, but is there any difference in selling something and charging a fee to rehome. When you buy anything, anywhere, are you not just really giving it a new home for a fee?

Usually a fee to rehome is cheaper cause they are trying to get rid of it asap, but that's what I've picked up from browsing craigslist.

You're not allowed to "sell" animals on craigslist for whatever reason. So people call it an adoption or re-homing fee. You also have to be careful how you word the ads or they will be removed. People have nothing better to do than flag pet ads all day

Below is one reason why i dont like being in boston when it comes to craiglist users..these people charge PRICES not fees. look at this post someone made on craigslist and tell me they arent insane for even thinking this mess. then at the end of the post has a nerve to say "you pick it up" :

I have a male jungle carpet python that is fairly small needs more attention than i can give. I have a cage set up that I will sell too if needed.

Asking $400 for the snake (he is worth $650)
10 gal tall Cage with cover and water dish $100

Also have a 20 gal Long tank (reptile tank) with cover and water dish that will sell for $150

cash only you pick it up.

Some people keep posting their overpriced stuff for months. You would think they would give up eventually or lower their prices... :p

Exactly, thats what happens whatever animal they have on there it will stay on there as long as its over priced. Then they will keep it until they make reasonable offer.
