Is she bored? Does she have bones to chew on?

They make some products that are supposed to make wood and things taste bad so that dogs/ other animals dont chew them.

Sorry to hear you might have to give her away!
Poor doggie!

you could 'try' to use Bitter Apple, but it doesn't work with some dogs, for some reason.
It might help though!
How long have you had her, and is she just now starting to chew on wood?

she a lab or lab mix?
Larger breed dogs chew until they are about eighteen months old-they have to be confined when they are left unattended.
Instead of giving her away, try crating her when you cant be around.
My lab-the very very best dog in the world-was a complete jerk until she hit that eighteen month mark- to the day, actually- I almost couldnt wait her out-she chewed down my TREE! (granted, it was just a few inches around, but that isnt the point!) My dog also removed our brand new siding off the back of the house, and once when I was just in the front yard she turned a bag of potatoes into hashbrowns all over the living room that wouldnt sweep or vacuume up, hand to be hand plucked from the carpet-plus a dozen other disasters.
the large breeds are worth the wait, better to confine them with nothing but what they are allowed to chew (rope toys, rawhide) when you cant be around. Especially if she is just a baby-sixteen weeks is just a baby. Give her time and dont leave her unsupervised, she will probably outgrow any destruction as she grows up. Just like a human baby, you wouldnt leave them unsupervised with a box of crayons and a pair of scissors-its just like that.
Good luck.

I have a 17 month old American Staffordshire (Pitt Bull) I had a problem with him chewing everything including my house. My father told me to hang a rope in the yard from the tree and tie a Bicycle tire to the end of the rope ever sience I've done that he has beem pretty occupied trying to get the tire down and stopped chewing the shingles off the house. Its worth a try nobody wants to get rid of thiere dog. I'ts either that or you could cable (chain) her. Sorry bud hope you don't have to get rid of your dog.
