Heya all, I've a communal tank of avicularia avicularia sling, everything was OK till today, this morning I found one of my sling in a bad molt, I immediatly transfered it into a smaller and very humid container.

Tonight, I find another one in a bad molt, this one seem's to be already dead. :cussing

The first one is still alive but still stuck ... this is frustrating , any tips or info are welcome

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. My avic is holding onto a clutch right now and I'm hoping things go good with it. Hope everything turns out ok for ya.

If it's not too late, you might want to consider moving a humidifier into the room with them during this time of molting. Maybe it might make things easier on the slings you have left?

Sorry to hear about the loss. Must really suck.:( A friend of mine lost his baby vagans this way last week. Stuff like this happens from time to time and there is not much you can do about it when it happens. Glad to hear the rest of them are ok though.

I am looking hard at molting problems, and iodine plays an important role in the molting process,I have started to put a small amount of salt in my feeder insect's diet (iodized salt) I do not know yet if this will have any effect but I do not think it will hurt anything!

i probably would have done the same thing.

its a bummer but, well, i have gnarly claustrophobia, so if I were stuck in my own skin like that, I would probably rather be dead.

I'm so sorry

Kirdec,

I'm so sorry about your babies. :( That had to have been heartbreaking to see/watch.

How are the other ones doing now?

I hope you won't lose any single one anymore.

Sorry to hear about your loss kirdec....I know when ours are having a hard time molting Wolfy puts them in the bathroom with the door shut and puts the shower on to get the humidity level high. I've lost slings with bad molts and it sucks to be honest. I have an egg sac of A.avics that should be ready in about a month so my stress level should sky rocket.
