My box came from Danny (UrbanJungles) this morning and it was Christmas all over again. I had been so worried about the beautiful Haplopela longipes making the trip from New Jersey to Texas but she was kicking the stall and breathing fire by the time I took her container out of the box!
I had an old 10 gal empty at the house and that is waaay more floor space than I needed but I decided to fill in about 75% of the area leaving a strip across the front and down one side to be burrowed in. I'm hoping i'll see the old girl once in a while after she digs in.
I did her transfer outside in the yard so if she made a break for it she would be in the open and not running under my furniture or up a wall. I let her sit outside in the 55-60f temp for a few minutes before moving her and that seemed to put the brakes on her teleporting speed.
Her she is on the fresh new substrate but would not let go of the packing she had been resting on. I think it was her security blanket.
Here she is posing for me on top of her little pagoda lamp in her new home.
She's been very well behaved so far, but I'm sure after she's settled she'll change that!
