Baby pacman froggies (lots of pics)

I bought my self 2 wonderful cranwelli pacmans a few day's ago
One albino and one green/brownish (in seperate tanks ofcourse)

I was wondering if anyone here has tryed to raise baby pacmans
without giving crickets?

I raised a wee one. It wasnt any bigger than a quarter when I got him. I fed him small goldfish and crickets. I gotta get another one... I sure liked them.

Crickets

Crickets are very important, fish can lead to obesity and other health problems. Make sure to house the guys apart or they WILL!!! eat each other.
When they get bigger you may offer an occasional small mouse.

Barry was that big when i first got him, hes a right chubber now tho he gets a weekly pinkie as well a diet of extra large crickets 3/4 a day

I am getting quite stressed, my albino still hasn't eaten yet!
The green one eats and eats, I would LOVE any help,
I am getting really afraid that maybe he has red leg?!?! Or
any other disease...
Can any one tell if it looks unhealty?
What about the eyes?

Also I can't find any pics of their underside on
the internet *blushes* are they suposed to be so pinkish or
is this the start of internalbleeding/red leg thingy?

This is his home now...
will be moved soon into a glass tank, for better temperature and moist control...

Please any help would be wonderful... any thing ... getting a bit desperate here...
I already am quite found of him and loosing him would be quite hurtful as
well as a bit of a financial damage since an albino like that costs
310USD/260EUR/180GBP in Iceland, I wouldn't be able to just buy a new one.

Crickets are very important,

The only crickets I can get in Iceland are these...

I will have to make doo with these and live mealworms...

He's probly waiting for something that moves, try wiggling the crickets in front of him or getting him angry enough to bite the cricket. Live mealworms would be good to get him started as well. If the food isn't moving, he's going to be picky. I have seen people keep them in glass or plastic containers with the water filled halfway up the frogs body and guppies as food.

Oh yeah, thats not redleg, looks normal.

It isn't Ohh men am I glad to hear that!

About moving the food, I have been doing that though the longest period
I've done it for is around 15minutes, I was told by a bull frog owner that he
sometimes had to wiggle the food in front of his frog for 30min at a time untill he took it!
I wanted pac man coz they're not fuzzy eaters... LOL That's life
The same person pointed out to me that some sort of fungus infections can occure if
the froggies don't have any dryspots, and he was worried about the pinkness of the legs,
so I added some dry substrate for him to climb on if he need's to dry a bit, hope it works.

I also have thermometer now and a hydrometer (sp?)
Tomorrow I'll be getting them an extra lamp to carry night light,
so I can switch more naturally from day and night (the bulbs being their heatsource)

When barry does not eat i just keep at it until he gets mad enough to eat it down which usually does not take long, I find stroking there lips with the cricket until they finally eat it helps.

I gave bazza a few days to settle in to his tank, no loud noises and no food and when he settled down in the moss then i started ti feed him this did take about 24 hours of him roaming the tank.

as for fungus, use a substrate that does not go moldy like coconut fibres, not heard that one before tho. cocnut id prefered to bark as sometimes they do swollow bark....so i have heard

I have an albino that i keep on very moist peat,with a wide shallow water dish.I got him when he was about quarter size,and he is now about 2-2 1/2 inches.I feed him crickets,superworms,nightcrawlers,lobster roaches,waxworms(on occasion),and rosie red minnows.Your frogs look healthy to me.

thats a cute frog you have there, I used to have one of those. Is it true that the oils off our hands can make these frogs sick?

Sort of, it damages his skin so he can not take in
nutriens and oxigen through his skin were you touched him...
Hence the blue powderless latex gloves I'm wearing on two of the pics

Sweet frogs way cooler then the leopard frog i had in like 7th grade lol. I want one they look like cartoons ill take two!! Good luck with them.

are these hard to take care of?

Not really
Especially if you don't live in Iceland
then you can get plenty of nice live foods for them and
don't have to wiggle every meal in front of them and wait untill they grab it

It is mostly keep em clean, feed and love em very much

I have to wiggle a pinky on his lips before we even gives it a sniff.

they are amazing pets well easy to look after if you get into a routine when cleaning and feeding wise. evey two weeks cleaning and i feed 3 crickets everyday and a pinky once a week
