i have a red rump jumping spider who just gave birth to beautiful baby jumpers. the jumpers are in the web that the mother created for them. any advice as to how i take care of them?
Well they will moult and become independant, once they are active you can feed them. But you'll need really tiny prey for such tiny spiderlings!! I tried raising baby jumpers on 2 occasions but was never successful, couldn't find prey small enough for them. Alternatively you can try letting them cannibalise each other until several are left, they may have enough nutrition by then to make at least another moult or so. It will be quite time-consuming to prepare enclosures for every single one of them anyway. Also note that the container you house them in has to be ventilated but at the same time, the holes must be smaller than them or they'll surely escape.
