This is somewhat odd for me to ask this, as I've raised iguanas for almost 4 years now. However, I've ONLY had adult iguanas.

I bought two baby iguanas today from the pet store. They will be cohabitating in the same cage for awhile. I would like to get some opinions on what you guys use for juvenile iguanas as far as heating supplies.

Obviously, the huge set ups I use for my adults are vastly different.

The juveniles are about a foot long each, with a body diameter of 3/4"-1". They are, time being, staying in a ten gallon together.

Experienced keepers, what's a safe temperature for juveniles, and what equipment do you use to maintain that?

I'd use a 50watt ceramic heater on one side with a branch or two underneath, that way they can thermoregulate and find their happy place.

If at all possible, get them in a larger cage with more climbing space. I kept my hatchlings just like the adults, just on a smaller scale. I only used heat lights with branches providing basking spots close enough to the lights for the little guys to get warm enough. Temps are the same for the hatchlings too.

Depends on your cage setup. A 4 foot repta sun 10 is what i'd use, i forget what watt it is though...
