Got these guys a few days ago...a dozen of them.

Very cute guys. I would like them, except that they perpetually smell like skunk.

we catch them all the time in our backyard, but like eksong says, they just smell too bad to keep in the house
they are cute though!

LOL I caught one the otherday while I was mowing....NO I didnt mow it.. I saved it!! It was SO TINY....darn thing stunk up my kitchen... 2 days later I let it go...hehe crazy things.

Garter Snake

I found a garter snake the other day and would like to keep it. I haven't noticed any bad smells, except when I over handle it and it goos on me! She/he is about a foot long, and her head is about a 1/4 wide. What do I feed it? I have it in an aquarium with some green carpeting material I bought at a pet store. I have given it a hiding place, a bowl of water, a stick to climb and a rock.

I caught one once and it threw up slugs on me...so....try Slugs They eat fish, slugs, grasshoppers, pinkies, Ive even seen one eat a snail although that cant have been good for it...
