I have a baby curly hair tarantula that is about 1-1.25 inches big in diameter, I was wondering how long it takes for them to get to full size... Does anyone know?

A long time. They’re slow growers. As far as an exact length of time, 4ish years.

Really depends on feeding frequency and the general temperature

I bought my T. Albo (curly hair) juvenile at below 3 inches almost a year ago. It's molt cycles were less than 100 days.
It's now a recent mature male sized 5+ inches.

Though i keep my room hot so even my 1.75inch pulchra has molt cycles of about 150 days.

So i think it'll take about two,two and a half years at max.

To be fair it also depends on the sex, as males tend to grow faster due to the decreased overall lifespan.
Im pretty sure there was a discussion about that here a couple of months ago (cant find it now) about how you could apparently sex a tarantula by its growth rate, where many keepers reported that their females grew at the same rate,if not faster than the males, which disproved that method of sexing.

Interesting, if you can find the link I'd gladly read it.

Interesting, I'll keep that in mind. Appreciate the backup, still I think 2-2.5 years to get a full grown T Albo is a bit fast though.

At its current size your sling is likely already over a year old.....growth rates are highly variable and one could see an adult in as little as 3 years, or as long as 5-8 years....no one can give you a more specific answer.

Thats just not true

Maybe i did shorten it a bit, based on the assumptions of my experiences.
I didnt raise mine from sling,i got it when it was :
approx 2.5 inches (February)
It molted in April when it reached 3.3 inches
Then it molted in July when it reached 4.2 inches
And it molted mature now in december at 5+ inches

And im just basing it on the fact that each next molt cycle is longer. So if it doubled the size to mature in less than a year (under my keeping conditions: Warm room with regular feedings),i cant imagine it took a lot of time to reach 2.5" (year and a half, two?)

So my only unknown variable was how old it was when i got it. Then again its not a big species so it doesnt have that much growing to do.

But yeah let's say at least 3-3.5 years now that i think about it.

Depends on sex, temps, frequency of feeding and quality of prey

Could be 5 yrs more or less
