Babies galore!

While mowing the lawn the other day, I saw this "mass" on the side of the house. Upon a closer look, I found that they were spiders. I am in Ohio, and these are in an area that I had a dozen or so "Garden Spiders" in webs last fall. I've always thought these to be one of the most fasinating local spiders. Huge yellow and black abdomen, and the thick white Z pattern through the middle of their webs. Positive ID is not criticle, but the quick research I've done comes up with Argiope aurantia? Enjoy......

THOSE ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL :D REALLY CUTE!

Those garden spiders you are talking about are BEAUTIFUL, and I love to watch them! I hope I get lucky enough to have one in my garden this year :D

There's usually a colony near where I live, but it hasn't appeared this year. I still have a few other sites to search, so when I do find another colony I will certianly post pics here.

Theres allot of sling masses near my house. When you breath on them they go crazy and disperse (which looks really cool!) :eek:
