Here is a pic of a B. lateralis that just molted into ultimate male. Note the wings that need to expand. I got distracted and did not get more pics of the wings expanding. Sorry for the fuzzy pic.

This guy has been munched by now. He was in the fence lizard enclosure when I took the picture.

Very nice!! Can lateralis be bred at room temp (70-75 degrees F)?? My Dubias are breeding SOOO SLOWLY at about 85-90 and I need a staple supply of food fast withought the aility to climb glass.

That would be a definate no, Blatta Lateralis is primarily a desert species which also is capable of inhabiting semi-desert areas in nature. This species definately will not produce well for you at lower temps. Also just a quick note: even though they are not capable of climbing glass or smooth surfaces, the adult winged males are very capable of flight!

My lateralis breed very well in my spider room, which hardly ever gets over 78F.

I've never agreed with the claim that lateralis "can't climb smooth surfaces" though. Should be more like "can't climb VERY smooth surfaces". They will readily scale my rubbermaid bins, and make quick work of a vaseline barrier.
