I need to know how long it is supposed to take a B. lateralis to lay eggs. More specifically, how long or is it at all, supposed to stay attached to the females rear? Have a female (just got these yesterday) that has an egg case attached for just over 24hrs. Want to know if this is normal. Not a whole lot of info on the actual process to egg laying.

I think that is normal. I havent had mine for very long, and they seem to drop ootheca weekly. It reminds me of how a fruit will grow on a tree, then it will rippen and fall to the ground. The mothers glue some of the ootheca to the egg crates they live in for incubation.(I think its pretty cool)
