I am fairly certain the one that died was a male, and I have 2 females and a male left....but the one that died was the only matured giganteus. I wonder if the fusca hybrids played a hand in his undoing....I mean he wasn't torn up or anything, just dead.what is your male to female ratio? and the one that just died, was it a male or female?
Yeah, I am worried about them hybridizing, so once they were mature I was going to remove them, but this guy didn't even make it past the hardening stage. Hopefully the others will live.no, if there is no external physical damage then i don't think that they had anything to do with it.
wait... you have the B. giganteous mix in with the fuscas? they are going to hybridize. if you keep your B. giganteous blood line pure, they will have more value and they'll keep their larger size.
anyway, at least you didn't lose a female and still have a male to breed them with, so you're still good.
can't wait till mine mature. hopefully in about 1-2 months.
Vfox,
here is the setup that i have for my B. giganteous, G. oblongonata, and B. rothi. The setup is consider complete once I add some oak leaves to it.
