i've seen one or two of these in my kitchen, and was considering setting a trap for them and then breeding them...
has anyone else tried this?
do you think this constitutes "asking for it" ? :D

thanks,

mm, the asking for it one

they seem to be able to get over traditional no-climb barriers.

i tried breeding them once, but managed to kill the five or so i caught and the ooth never hatched either. i want to try it again, but i am moving to a new house and my room mate would absolutely murder me if i infected it with escapee germanica.

the nymphs are so tiny... i really wanted to breed them. oh well.

Don't do it. The world has enough of those little . They climb over vasaline and other bug barriers. They are faster than you can imagine and smaller than you can see when born. They will infest your home and it will cost loads to get rid of them. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!! Hey I love all roaches, but breeding those on purpose--MISTAKE!!!!

I once kept these roaches, and had pregnant females, then one day they escaped, never saw another one since?

Your home must be very clean. They all went to the neighbors, they leave food around..... {D

a nonclimbing roach with babies as tiny as germanica would be pretty sweet though.

That would be lateralis.
i think germanica nymphs are considerably smaller than lateralis nymphs. i've had baby scorps where one lateralis fresh hatched filled them up to balloon size, but the germanica nymphs i have seen would have been a snack

You might want to shoot a PM off to roachman. If anyone would know, he would.
