I have a pretty large colony going but I have been catching a few that have escaped. I'm lucky I found them before my GF did because I told her that they can NOT climb the container walls. I have the sterlite clear container bins and was wondering if anyone else has had problem with them climbing the walls. Do you guys clean the sides regularly? The ones I find are rather small.. prolly like 3rd instar or so and I wonder if its possible that they can climb if the walls are a little dusty?

Sounds like a damp paper towel might help that problem... ;)

Was it a brand spanking new sterilite container? If not, it may have minute scratches/abrasions that are hard to see but certainly enough for small dubia nymphs to gain purchase on their way to freedom. Any sort of build up on the container walls will do the same. I had a baby centipede that "couldn't climb glass" until, of course, the lime deposits from misting built up & gave it somewhere to stick its little tarsi into.
