Awsome insect (pics)

I found this pretty awosome insect today. Not quite sure what it is. Its pretty large about 3-4" and about 1" wide.

I'm pretty sure that's some type of Dobson Fly. The larvae are pretty impressive also.

I had a feeling this was the product of Hellgrammite larvae. Those are pretty tell tale mandibles.

BTW, great pictures! I noticed your 'macro' link at bottom and will check it out. Looking for first digital camera myself and want to be able to take decent macro shots. Can you recommend one or at least a minimum res. capability?

Btw, it's a female. The male dobson fly has even longer jaws, although it's the female who can give the worst bite if handled carelessly.
