Avicularia which is the biggest?

Hi all,

Like the title says, I was just curious about which is the biggest (largest adult size) in this genus.

that we know about obviously.........

So have i just started a heated debate? hehe. will check it out, there are two forms of amazonica right "iquitos" and "manaus", do you know if they both get huge ( for a avicularia sp)

erm ... I tbh don't know... I had 2 amazonica slings .... now have one as one died so would be interested to know myself .... I also didn't know about he 2 differentforms tbh

if you want to get some straight up clarification look to germany, these guys have been breeding and collecting them from different locales for a while. i haven't got a scoobie what the diffs in the forms are though.

Actually, de largest of the genus is Avicularia bicegoi, not braunshauseni, according to the book by Günter Schimidt, "Vogelspinnen". ;)

I thought the Iquitos form of "Amazonica" was actually what is normally referred to as sp. Peru Purple and was due to people trying to pass them off as Amazonica's in the pet trade.

Also, Metallica sp Green get pretty large.
